Sheffield's new Event Central venue on Fargate will now not open until 2027, Sheffield City Council has confirmed.
The £14.4 million project has been delayed because a permanent electricity connection still needs to be secured.
The council is working with Northern Powergrid, Willmott Dixon and specialist contractors on an alternative solution.
The planned venue will include event space, exhibitions, community activity, workspace, and talks and workshops.
Opening is now expected in 2027. The council says another update will follow once the technical solution, costs and timetable are clearer.
