Gas leak at Sheffield industrial building prompts evacuation of nearby properties

Earlier today two fire crews attended an industrial building on Birley Vale Close, Sheffield after reports of a gas leak.

As a precaution, a number of properties nearby were evacuated.

The leak has now been isolated and all residents can now return to their properties.

Advice for residents: if you smell gas in the next few hours, open windows and doors to let this clear. If you continue to smell gas after this time, contact Cadent directly. Do not light naked flames for the next few hours.
