The main hall at Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall is set to be named in honour of Barnsley FC legend Norman Rimmington.
Rimmington, who was born in Staincross, first joined Barnsley as a goalkeeper in the 1940s before serving the club in a remarkable range of roles including coach, groundsman, physio and kit man. His decades of service earned him the affectionate nickname "Mr Barnsley", and he continued working at Oakwell into his 90s before his death in 2016.
