A total of 8,766 children and young people took part in free activities across Barnsley during the summer holidays, according to figures released by Barnsley Council.
The council worked with 31 local partners to deliver 451 activities, providing more than 1,143 hours of sport, outdoor activities, arts, crafts and community events. The programme was designed to give children affordable opportunities to stay active, meet others and try new experiences during the school break.
