Doncaster households are getting another recycling bin as part of major changes planned for 2027.
Homes will receive a new brown bin under the new system. The blue bin will continue to take paper and cardboard, while the new brown bin will be for plastics, tins, cans, foil, aerosols and cartons. The green box will remain for glass bottles and jars.
The change is being introduced to meet new national recycling requirements.
Brown bins are now beginning to be rolled out across different parts of Doncaster, but residents should not start using them yet.
Residents should continue using the current recycling system until the council confirms when the new collections begin in their area.
