Sheffield City Council is running a session called Focused: Understanding the impact of trauma in the perinatal period. It takes place on Monday 9 November 2026, from 11.00am to 12.30pm.
The session aims to help people develop an understanding of what trauma is and how to recognise it, and to give a brief understanding of how trauma affects people. It also covers the importance of ACEs research — adverse childhood experiences — and how to support people in feeling safe during interactions.
Those taking part will look at what support is available for people who have experienced trauma, how to work in a trauma informed way, and how to help people become more resilient and build growth and strength.
Places can be reserved through the council's sign-up form on its events page. Anyone who has already booked and can no longer attend can cancel using the email address they booked with.
