A training session on dangerous dogs is being held in Sheffield, hosted by South Yorkshire Police's Dog Legislation Team.
The session, run by Dog Legislation Officer PC 1306 Beth Hindley, will cover who the team are and where they are based, what they do and the legislation they work with, how to identify banned breeds, and how to spot risks and prevent them for families. There will also be a question and answer opportunity and pointers to where to find further information.
It runs on Thursday 5 November 2026 from 12.00pm to 1.00pm. Places can be reserved through Sheffield City Council's events page, and anyone who has booked can cancel their place using the email address they booked with.
The council says the training is not suitable if young children will be present, as it includes footage and images that some people may find distressing.
