A new charitable fund set up by South Yorkshire's Mayor, Oliver Coppard, is now open for applications. The South Yorkshire Mayor's Youth Impact Fund is aimed at gifted and talented young people aged 11 to 19 across the region, with the aim of removing financial barriers that can hold them back.
According to the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, the fund will support an annual cohort of young people, helping them access specialist training, develop their skills and progress in areas where they show exceptional promise. It is being delivered in partnership with The King's Trust and South Yorkshire's Community Foundation, the region's largest grant-giving charity.
Applications opened on Wednesday 7 October and run until Friday 4 December 2026 at 9am, with grants worth up to £10,000 available to successful applicants. The fund is open to young people aged 11 to 19 across South Yorkshire.
