Weston Park Cancer Charity has raised £2,151,030 to bring Sheffield its first MRI simulator dedicated specifically to cancer treatment.
The original fundraising target was £1.85 million, and the final total has passed that figure.
The scanner will help clinicians target tumours more accurately, reduce damage to healthy tissue, improve radiotherapy planning and create new opportunities for cancer research.
The equipment will be based at Weston Park Cancer Centre and will support patients from across South Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
