Proud of Rotherham (Rotherham's Pride in Place board) is pleased to launch our Proud of Rotherham: Small Grants Scheme.
We are supporting local people, groups and community projects through small grants of up to £1000 to make a real difference in Rotherham.
Local people are at the heart of this programme. Your ideas, your experiences and your local knowledge will help shape what gets funded, where investment goes and what happens next. Check if your idea for a project is eligible by looking at the criteria below. The application process is simple and fast.
Who are the Proud of Rotherham Board?
We are a Board of volunteers made up of local people who really know and care about Rotherham. Our Board members have been carefully selected to oversee the programme as they have wide range of skills and experiences to share. Chaired by Eleanor Lockley, we will work alongside Sarah Champion, your Member of Parliament for Rotherham, to make sure this significant investment reflects the wishes of the community.
What is the Proud of Rotherham: Small Grants Scheme?
This new scheme will provide grants of up to £1,000 for capital or revenue expenditure that will help improve Rotherham. It is a chance to turn your ideas into actions that will benefit your community.
A capital project would be a cost incurred for acquiring or improving something through buildings, equipment or machinery. For example, buying a composter for an allotment or a purchase that would improve a local space.
A revenue project would be the everyday running costs for something, such as the wages for a youth worker as part of a summer play scheme or a community event or activity.
How is it funded?
Proud of Rotherham: Small Grants Scheme is funded by Pride in Place, a government scheme to invest £20 million in Rotherham over the next 10 years. For the first round of grants, we will allocate £100,000. This will be a rolling programme, so don't feel you have to apply straight away!
