Sheffield Council is running a five-week Preparation for Birth & Beyond course at Highfield Library on London Road.
The council says the course is aimed at first-time expectant parents who are between 28 and 34 weeks pregnant, and covers a wide range of topics to prepare you for the arrival of your baby.
All dads and partners are invited to attend and will be included in your one ticket.
The sessions are a chance to meet other parents and find out about what your baby needs during pregnancy and beyond, becoming a parent and what it means in practice, and the local support available to you. The course also covers labour and birth, caring for yourselves and your baby, and feeding your baby.
The five sessions run on Thursdays from 10am to 12.30pm, starting on 5 November 2026, with the following dates on 12, 19 and 26 November and 3 December 2026. The council asks that you attend all session dates.
The course is at Highfield Library, 281 London Road, Sheffield, S2 4NF. You can reserve a place through the council's events page, and the contact number is 0114 273 5665.
