Halloween is here and it's creeping across South Yorkshire, but police are reminding everyone to keep the night fun not frightening.
If you're trick or treating, remember to stay safe, stay seen and be mindful of those in your community who may wish to not be involved.
On trick or treating, police say to respect your neighbours — only visit houses that are decorated and do not approach houses displaying a no trick or treat poster. You can download a poster from the force's website.
Darker clothing makes you harder to see, so wear something bright and visible and stick to pavements, crossing roads at safe, clear points.
Drivers are also reminded that there will be more pedestrians with young children, and are asked to be vigilant and slow down.
Parents with older children who may be going out alone are asked to make sure they know where they are, and to speak to them about staying safe.
Neighbourhood officers will be on duty this evening and will be patrolling local neighbourhoods. If you see them, don't forget to stop and say hello.
