Blackpool made five substitutions in the second half, including Andy Lyons in the 45th minute and Hayden Coulson in the 67th, before Jerry Yates equalised in the 81st minute from an Albie Morgan assist, shortly after Davis Keillor-Dunn had been replaced by Ricardo Almeida Santos.
Ilmari Niskanen was booked in the 79th minute and Jordan Williams in the 82nd, before a flurry of yellow cards in the 84th minute for Barry Bannan, Josh Bowler and Ian Ross Evatt. Sheffield Wednesday made further changes in the 89th minute, with Mason Burstow and Max Lowe replaced by Kieran Morrison and Harry Gray, and Gray was booked in the 94th minute.
